Technical Specifications & Application Guide

Beyond the Label

Vallejo Fantasy Color Leather Brown Spray Primer 28.014 is useful when a project needs a warm brown foundation before the main detail work begins. It helps create an even base for leather straps, saddles, boots, armor details, wooden shields, cavalry gear, monster hides, forest terrain, medieval scenery, ruined buildings, and natural tabletop environments.

The matte surface gives later paint layers something to grip while the model remains ready for washes, highlights, edge work, glazes, decals, and weathering effects. This makes Leather Brown useful as both a time-saving primer and a strong base color for brown, leather, wood, and earth-tone projects.

Pro Tips from the Studio

• Test first: Always test the spray on spare material before applying it to the final model.
• Build color gradually: Use light passes instead of one heavy coat to help preserve surface detail.
• Use the right nozzle: Use the low-discharge nozzle for smaller areas and the medium-discharge nozzle for larger surfaces.
• Plan your color scheme: Leather Brown can support dark brown washes, tan highlights, ochre tones, earth textures, wood grain, and natural weathering effects.
• Finish safely: Follow all safety information on the product label and use only in a suitable, well-ventilated area.
